Cremation Facility

Woodside Cemetery Association embarked on a new service for our families in January 1996 with the opening of our cremation facility.

This facility was built to allow families to have cremation committal services in a beautiful location, or families can witness the casket or case entering the cremation chamber through a window.

Outside the facility is a beautiful patio looking at above ground niches and the beautiful Mausoleum complex.

The cremation facility was built because we are seeing more people choosing cremation.  Cremation is simply a different form of final disposition.

Woodside Cemetery has sent four staff members to be instructed on cremation. They have been certified as cremation operators by the Cremation Association of North America (CANA).

Cremation allows families to still have visitation, a funeral, and memorialize the individual.  Cremation can give a greater number of options in the remembrance of those who are no longer with us.

For more information and a tour of the cremation facility stop in the office or call for an appointment to discuss cremation and all options for memorialization.

The Woodside Cemetery Association Cremation Scattering Garden offers families another alternative for memorializing cremation.

The Cremation Scattering Garden is located across from the War Memorial Monument.

The garden is centered with a 3' by 3' by 7' gray granite monolith with an earth tone cobble paver patio and walkway from the street.  The patio and walkway are surrounded by a ground cover garden of purple winter creeper and more than 6000 spring daffodils and  narcissus.  The outside perimeter has evergreen and deciduous trees with a grouping of azaleas and rhododendrons to separate the garden from the surrounding grassy area.

Affixed to the granite monolith is a bronze plaque.  Individual name bars with birth and death years are placed on the plaque.

The scattering itself takes place in the purple winter creeper ground cover.

Use of the garden can be arranged as either a pre-need or at-need service. On a pre-need service, the bronze name bar is not ordered or installed until the person is deceased.
