Geraldine C. "Gerry" Prebles, 90, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 18, 1933 to parents, Stephen and Sophia (Szymanski) Kolos.

Gerry dedicated her time to making a loving home for her family. She worked part-time as a Distribution Manager for the Middletown Journal for the City of Trenton. She was a woman of great faith and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Gerry was also a member of the Happy 5th Mother's Club and enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching and was quite the seamstress.

Gerry is survived by her sons, Dudley (Catherine) Prebles, Derek (Kimberly) Prebles, Gregg (Patrice) Prebles & Scot (Leah) Prebles; daughter, Suzanne (Gary) Sloneker; sister, Marlene Gielarowski; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth Prebles, Eric (Stephanie) Prebles, Lindsey (Dan) McMullen, Andria Prebles, Kaylee Prebles, Ryan Prebles, Michael Prebles, Scot Prebles II, Joseph Prebles, Kevin (Amanda) Sloneker, Christopher Sloneker, Sophie Sloneker & Katie Sloneker; and 7 great grandchildren, Liam, Wyatt, Noah, Owen, Mia, Ashlynn & Olivia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas C. Prebles in 2008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe with Father Stephen Lattner OSB as celebrant. Immediately following the Mass, entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
