Doris Carletha Phillips, age 71, of Middletown, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was born December 5, 1952 in Middletown, OH, the daughter of James "60" Calhoun and Willa Dean (Smith) Calhoun. Doris was a childcare provider for many years and was like a mother to many. She was willing to help or give her ear to any close friends and relatives who wanted to share their problems and situations of life. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Beonca M. Calhoun; three sisters, June D. Barnett, Bonnie M. Calhoun, Tamara A. Calhoun and her brother, James A. Calhoun Jr. Doris is survived by her two sons, Perry T. Embry and Morris Phillips III (wife, Kali) both of Middletown; siblings, Diane M. David of Locust Grove, GA, Alfreda M. Martin, Taunya J. Wright both of Middletown, and Michael D. Calhoun (wife, Veronica) of Ellenwood, GA; grandchildren, Fallon Tipton of Oxford, OH, Shambria Phillips of Middletown, OH, Keira Embry of Miamisburg, OH, Nidazya Phillips of Cincinnati, OH, Shavon Phillips of Springboro, OH, Thomas Embry of Middletown, OH, Paris Hughes of Wyoming, OH, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great grandchildren and friends that loved her dearly. Visitation will be 11:00 am-12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Charles Truss officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
