LYKINS, Ruth, age 87, of Middletown, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Majestic Care of Middletown where she had resided for 1 ½ years. She was born December 17, 1935 in Menifee County, Kentucky but had lived in Middletown most of her life. She was a Cabinet Worker for Hamilton Fixture retiring after many years of service. Ruth was known for being a great cook and a wonderful mother, who was called Mom by many people. She was a very caring caregiver to many. The family extends a very big thank you and special appreciation to Majestic Care’s Staff for taking such good care of their Mom. Preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Lillie (Woods) Byrd; her husband, Ruchell L. Lykins in 2017; and two daughters, Donna Cheeseman and Linda Pennington. She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Lewis; three grandchildren, David, Rachael and Tina; several great grandchildren; one sister, Edith Howard; good friends, Etta and Tina; and many extended family and friends. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at Woodside Cemetery, Section 27-C, Middletown, Ohio with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, Middletown, Ohio.
