Dale E. Hager, lifelong resident of Middletown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the age of 65. Dale was born on Monday, October 21, 1957 in Middletown, Ohio to John W. and Norma Jean (nee Bush) Hager. The oldest of five children, Dale was a family man that enjoyed simple pleasures in life. He could often be found sitting on his porch watching the world go by. Two weeks following High School graduation, Dale married his best-friend and high school sweetheart, Barbara "Cookie" Allen. The couple created a home that was filled with love and laughter, a home that had an open door for anyone. Dale would do just about anything for anyone, no questions. A 47 year member of Labors Local 534, Dale spent most of his time working with SK Construction. He had a talent for rebuilding cars winning many trophies over the years. Dale loved his 69 GTO but found he cherished the time spent with family and friends as he restored her beauty. Never meeting a stranger, Dale will be forever remembered by those that knew him. Dale was preceded in death by: parents, John and Norma Jean Hager; and son, Jesse Hager. Dale is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Cookie Hager; son, Steve (Lillian) Hager; grandchildren, Tyler Hager and Kaitlyn Hager; siblings, Kim Hager, Ray (Tammy) Hager, Randy (Lisa) Hager, and Kevin (Stephanie) Hager; many loving and dedicated family members and friends, including Eddie Deaton. Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home & Crematory, 6780 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Zornes officiating. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
