BROWN, David L. “Brownie”, age 81, of Middletown, Ohio. passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at Atrium Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born May 10, 1942 in Milford, Ohio and lived in the Middletown area most of his life. He graduated from Milford High School. David served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Brown’s Sewing Service for 20 years, and then was a repairman for Singer Sewing Machine Company of Cincinnati for ten years. He was a member of the Franklin First Church of God. He enjoyed using his talents in building O Scale Model Train sets and layouts and building model ships and airplanes. He also enjoyed listening to organ music. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Frederick and Lida Ellen (Church) Brown; one sister, Kathy; and two brothers, Bob and Richard. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alice (Linkous) Brown; one daughter, Alice Lynn (Jeff) Brashears; three grandchildren, Jessica Dahoudi, Daniel (Kaitlin) Bunn and Brandon Bunn; eight great grandchildren, Lillie, Lewis, Emily, Abby, Damian, Kira, Morgan and Landon; two great-great grandchildren, Harmonie and Oakley; one sister, Mary (Larry) Holmes; one brother, Don (Linda) Brown; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Franklin First Church of God, 704 River Street, Franklin, Ohio, 45005, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Crider officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio with military honors by Middletown Combined Honor Guard. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin First Church of God, 704 River St., Franklin, Ohio 45005. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
